1. Is there sufficient difference between formal and informal design?

POSTERS
There is a sufficient difference between formal and informal design and I really like the colour balance. I believe that there is an excellent rhythm which gives the sense of movement. Proportions are well distributed, and the unity of the design is well planned and delivered.
RUBBISH FONT
It is hard to say whether there is any difference between formal and informal design, even though I like the simple design approach, which delivers the suitable message. I notice an informal design approach in this poster.
CD COVER
The CD cover presents an excellent balance and dominance. I really like the unity of individual parts of the CD cover design. Furthermore, I notice a good proximity, where each items are in relationship to others. Therefore, I believe there is an adequate difference and well balanced formal vs. informal design.
DOT IS A LINE THAT WENT FOR A WALK
This animation is done nicely. I notice the continuance, which ‘makes the eye to follow the line’. Moreover, the rhythm is well brought as it gives a ‘real’ sense of movement. In my opinion, balance should be improved.

2. Is the concept appropriate for informal design?

POSTERS

Yes, but not entirely, as it has a lot of formal balance as well.

RUBBISH FONT

This is the perfect example of well-balanced informal design.

Not appropriate for informal design.

3. Give suggestions as to how improvements can be made & how ideas can be developed further


POSTERS

The poster looks nice, the only thing I would suggest, is to change the font styles, to be more plain style, as it would suite the poster better.

RUBBISH FONT

I believe that changing the background would make some improvement, as it would bring a bit of formal design in the image.

CD COVER

I wouldn’t make any change here

I would change the background colour.



4. Rate the overall aesthetic and explain why


POSTER
Strength- Very ‘catchy’ and nice message delivered. Colour balance perfectly delivered.
Weakness- Very hard to find the weakness, the only thing is maybe improper fonts
Opportunity- The font can be improved with making them more basic
Threat- Lack of the originality

RUBBISH FONT
Strength- Good implementation of informal design
Weakness- Insufficient application of formal design
Opportunity- To improve the image through implementation of formal design
Threat- Lack of the originality


CD COVER
Strength- Good balance and rhythm. It CD cover really fits to music genre.
Weakness- Colour balance needs a tune-up
Opportunity- Opportunities are used
Weakness- Lack of the originality
